The Family Resource Center in partnership with Charleston County’s Exceptional Children Parent Advisory Council will be conducting 3  free “Crash Course in Special Education” training workshops.  All workshops begin at 6:30 at the following locations:

Feb 26 – Laing Middle School – 2705 Bulrush Basket Lane, Mt. Pleasant

March 5 – North Charleston High School – 1087 E. Montague Ave., N. Charleston

March 12 – West Ashley High School – 4060 West Wildcat Blvd., Charleston

Transition Fair

The SC Employment First Initiative will hold a FREE Disability Benefits & Employment Workshop on February 26, 1:30-3:30 PM at Trident Technical College’s Berkeley Campus, 1001 S. Live Oak Dr. (Hwy. 17-A), Moncks Corner, SC

These workshops are made up of two parts; the first is presentations from SC Protection & Advocacy & a Community Work Incentives Coordinator on the basics of SSI/SSDI &  employment.  The second part is a vendor fair, where attendees can meet one-on-one with local organizations (such as SC Voc Rehab or SC Works) to learn more about their employment supports.  For more info: 800-681-7715 or TYY 864-235-8798 or email: hiremesc@able-sc.org
